sūta uvāca
evaṁ stutaḥ sa bhagavān
ādi-devaḥ satāṁ gatiḥ
parituṣṭaḥ prasannātmā
prahasaṁs tam abhāṣata

TRANSLATION
 | Sūta Gosvāmī said: Lord Śiva, the foremost demigod and the shelter of the saintly devotees, was satisfied by Mārkaṇḍeya’s praise. Pleased, he smiled and addressed the sage.
