tām āpatantīṁ nabhasi
maholkām iva raṁhasā
bhāsayantīṁ diśaḥ śauriḥ
sāyakaiḥ śatadhācchinat

WORD BY WORD

TRANSLATION

Śālva’s hurtling spear lit up the whole sky like a mighty meteor, but Lord Śauri tore the great weapon into hundreds of pieces with His arrows.
