bhuñjate kurubhir dattaṁ
bhū-khaṇḍaṁ vṛṣṇayaḥ kila
upānahaḥ kila vayaṁ
svayaṁ tu kuravaḥ śiraḥ

WORD BY WORD

TRANSLATION

“We Vṛṣṇis enjoy only whatever small parcel of land the Kurus allow us? And we are indeed shoes, whereas the Kurus are the head?”
