देवकी ब्रह्मपुत्र सा या वेदैरुपगीयते
निगमो वसुदेवो यो वेदार्थः कृष्णरामयोः
devakī brahmaputra sā yā vedairupagīyate
nigamo vasudevo yo vedārthaḥ kr̥ṣṇarāmayoḥ

devakī — Devakī; brahma — the Supreme Personality of Godhead; putrā — who had as her son; sā — she; yā — who; vedaiḥ — by the Vedas; upagīyate — is glorified; nigamaḥ — the Vedas; vasudevaḥ — Vasudeva; yaḥ — who; veda — of the Vedas; arthaḥ — the meaning; kr̥ṣṇa-rāmayoḥ — of Lord Kr̥ṣṇa and Lord Balārama;
TRANSLATION
 | Devakī, who is glorified by the Vedas, had the Supreme Personality of Godhead as her son. Vasudeva, who was learned in all the Vedas, was the father of Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma.
