VaikuṇṭhaThe eternal planets of the spiritual sky. Literally, without anx1ety.
VaiṣṇavaA devotee of the Supreme Lord.
VaiśyaThe merchant or farmer class according to the Vedic social system.
ValmikiAuthor of the Ramayana.
VanaprasthaRetired life, in which one quits home and travels to places of pilgrimage in preparation for the renounced order of sannyasa.
VarnaSocial class, or occupational division.
VarnāsramaThe Vedic social system arranged into four occupations (varnas): brahmana, ksatriya, vaisya, and suadra; and four spiritual divisions (asramas): brahmacari, grhastha, vanaprastha, and sannyasa.
VāsudevāKrsna, the son of Vasudeva.
VedāntaThe philosophical system based on the Vedantasatra, the treatise written by Vyasadeva.
VedasThe four original scriptures (Rg, Yajur, Sama, and Atharva). Also, in a larger sense, their supplements, the Puranas, Mahabharata, Vedantasatra, etc.
VikarmaUnauthorized or sinful activity performed against the injunctions of revealed scriptures.
ViratrūpaThe universal form of Lord Krsna, as described in the Eleventh Chapter of Bhagavad-gita.
ViṣṇuThe Personality of Godhead.
ViṣṇumāyāThe internal energy of the Lord, which hides Him from material vision. Also called yogamaya.
ViṣṇutattvaInnumerable primary or Visnu expansions of Krsna.
VṛndāvanaThe transcendental abode of Lord Krsna. Also called Goloka Vṛndāvana or Krsnaloka.
VyasadevaLiterary incarnation who compiled the Vedas and wrote the Puranas, Mahabharata, and Vedantasutra.
