Attack on ISKCON << 15 “Le’s have three principles” >>
 | |
 | Who has the right to change the philosophy of the founder-ācārya and think that he can present something better? Well, three regulative principles in gṛhastha life. The relationship between man and wife is emotional attachment. Emotion or attachment is meant to be deepened, like any relationship in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, by serving guru and Kṛṣṇa.
| | My love for Prahlāda doesn't have to be manifested in a kiss (chuckles) (laughter). We can have kīrtana together, we can have kṛṣṇa-kāthā together. We can go to Vṛndāvana together. And our emotional attachment deepens and develops, so why can't it also be there between man and woman?
| | Do you show your affection by having sex? It's not our philosophy. Sex is for creating babies. Isn't it? (laughter) I don't ask you, you're brahmacārī. Kāmo 'smi. "I am sex which is not contrary to religious principles." If we follow this principle, then it is auspicious for gṛhasthas. And if you do something contrary to the proper principle, it's full of inauspiciousness and mistakes. If you just have sex... You know, unrestricted sex, you will have so many children. Can you take care of so many children? (chuckles) Like Catholic families, ten, fifteen, twenty children. What ISKCON member can even take care of themselves?
| | Sex means three, not two. It means the person who is born from the act. We have to be very responsible. Very responsible for that person, to take care of him materially and spiritually. So if someone advocating contraceptives, recommending "natural" contraception, āyurvedic, or whatever. Did Prabhupāda ever talk like this? I never read anywhere Prabhupāda talked about this. He knows something more than Prabhupāda? This minimizes Śrīla Prabhupāda's position.
| | I hope he gets all these crazy ideas out of his mind. But I won't accept the crazy ideas. Prabhupāda said, contraception means you just slam the door in the face. The science says, the living entity takes shelter in a particle of male semen, is injected into the womb of the mother, where the semen meets the ovule, creates a favorable body, and living entity's body starts to grow. And this is birth. Prabhupāda told Viṣṇujana Swami that contraception means that you slam the door in the face. A living entity is not allowed to take his birth like that. And as the door has been slammed in his face, then the door will be slammed in your face in the future, when you will try to get birth again.
